Basándose en la creciente crisis financiera global, la compañía General Motors ha dado un giro repentino en sus acciones y ha anunciado a diversas fuentes la posibilidad de exportar coches provenientes de China para poder comercializarlos en los Estados Unidos.

Para ello contará con el respaldo de las filiales de General Motors en el país oriental, Shanghai GM y la subsidiaria SAIC-GM-Wuling, que como verán, cuenta con el respaldo de la Corporación Industrial del Automóvil de Shanghai (por sus siglas, SAIC).
Una opinión contraria a esto ha sido expresada por parte de GM China, manifestando que “La principal prioridad de General Motors en el país es satisfacer las necesidades de nuestro mercado, y la filosofía que tenemos siempre ha sido fabricar donde vendemos“.
Esto es una realidad, dado que en el país se ha registrado un record de ventas de 151.084 unidades, un aumento del orden del 50% interanual, caso muy diferente al de Chrysler.
