General Motors se declarará en bancarrota
Si hay una noticia que ha causado un gran revuelo en el mundo de la construcción y venta de automóviles, es sin lugar a dudas la quiebra de General Motors, que si bien ya habíamos anunciado hace un tiempo, se tenían unos pocos vestigios de esperanza para que la situación cambie.
Lo cierto es que este lunes se presentará lo que sería la bancarrota de la firma, ya que sus acreedores no han aceptado bonos a cambio de la deuda que mantenía la compañía, sin respaldo alguno, y que no alcanzaban a cubrir los 27.000 millones.
El plazo que había puesto el Gobierno de los Estados Unidos de América se vence ese lunes, y posteriormente a haber recibido 19.400 millones de dólares, la General Motors no podría presentar un plan de viabilidad que incluya una reducción de deuda, abaratamiento de costos laborales y reducción en plantas de producción y concesionarios.
La unica salida que tenía la compañía era la de ceder una participación del 20% por parte del Gremio de Trabajadores Automotores (UAW) frente a un 39% original, ocasionando una liberación del 19% de sus acciones y mejorando la oferta a los tenedores de bonos.
Pero esto no fue aceptado, y ahora esa parte pasará a manos del Gobierno de los Estados Unidos, quien podrá destinar sus fondos para la reestructuración judicial de la firma.
